Minimum Requirements
Knowledge, Skills and Competencies Required
Matric/Grade 12 certificate
The incumbent must have a clear criminal record - ESSENTIAL
Must be in possession of PSIRA Grade B with CCTV controller training or equivalent CCTV system
monitoring, management and operations experience – Essential
PSIRA Grade A certification will be an added advantage
12 months’ relevant experience in similar position or similar field
Experience working on an IP based system
The incumbent will be required to undergo pre-employment testing to confirm that colour blindness is not present
Computer literacy
Will be required to work overtime
Will be required to work shifts, week-ends and public holidays
Must have a very high level of integrity and confidentiality
Must be able to apply good judgment and discretion when evaluating potential or actual incidents and advising on an appropriate response
Good verbal and written communication skills in English
Ability to speak isiZulu will be an advantage, but not required
Report writing skills


Job Specification
To operate and monitor all security systems, including CCTV cameras, two way radio communication and security switchboard within the Security Control centre in a professional and efficient manner
To identify concern and issues whilst monitoring the security systems and to prioritise observations for response by security personnel or escalation to Security Supervisor/ Manager
To activate and coordinate appropriate emergency response plans in case of any emergency, including the activation of the Company Emergency Operations Centre and constant communication and coordination with emergency services from Tenants, Provincial and private institutions
To communicate and coordinate any necessary actions from SAPS in response to security incidents or crime committed at Company precinct
To perform QMS function in terms of the management of the Contract Security Personnel
The Security Coordinator needs to ensure full integrity, accuracy and confidentiality of all information gained by complying with the current quality standards and existing legislation

Key Performance Areas
Operational Support
Ensure that the CCTV roster is covered at all times
Provide such cover for CCTV shifts as required to maintain continuity of CCTV monitoring
Operate and control the CCTV monitoring equipment, and any future additions to that equipment, as directed by the Security Controller / manager
Act at all times in accordance with procedures laid down within the approved operational Company CCTV policy
Answer incoming calls and radio communication made to the Security Control Room by SAPS, security service providers, State Security Agency, clients or any other service providers participating in the system
Be responsible, whilst on duty, to determine and take the appropriate action required in response to any incident monitored or call received
To coordinate and direct the response by the contract security company personnel in to any security incident
Maintain an appropriate log of events, investigate any security incidents and submit investigation reports to the Company Controller Security
Pro-actively identify potential security issues and concerns and address issues appropriately
Complete appropriate administration procedures in connection with any relevant incidents monitored through CCTV
Keep the CCTV monitoring and related equipment in a clean and tidy condition at all times
Deal efficiently with queries and conduct oneself in accordance with Company policies and procedures and in respect of confidentiality and professionalism
Demonstrate the CCTV control equipment to any approved visitors as appropriate
Maintains system information and back-ups of incident information
Ensure that the required number of security personnel is deployed by the contract security company at the specified post at the specified time, correct uniforms and equipment is provided as required
Complete and sign QMS forms on a daily basis and submit to the Company Security Controller
Activate and coordinate the implementation of appropriate emergency response plans in case of any emergency
Activate the Company Emergency Operations Centre in accordance with existing procedure, and ensure constant communication and coordination with emergency services from Tenant, Provincial and private institutions

Nature of the Position
The position will be performed at the Company head office building. The work requires a high level of concentration and an ability to focus on and note relevant details and act appropriately
The incumbent needs to be able to work independently

Remuneration Guideline
Guaranteed Annual Package on a cost to company basis
Non-guaranteed performance bonus
20 Working days or equivalent calendar days leave per annum
