Job Purpose
The GrandWest Casino and Entertainment World is an internationally recognised leader in the gaming and entertainment industry. It is our intention to continuously shift the boundaries of service excellence and to do so; we are looking for a highly motivated and skilled Surveillance Manager.

The Surveillance Manager is responsible for leading the surveillance team to ensure the protection of company assets, staff, contractors and guests, as well as the implementation and maintenance of the surveillance and compliance function, in line with legislated requirements, including:
Ensuring that Gaming procedures and Gaming Compliance is enforced, and is in line with Gaming Board requirements (Gaming legislation)
Ensuring that all other compliance related requirements in related departments (Marketing) are enforced
Ensuring the protection of company assets, in conjunction with the Security function
Assist in ensuring the safety of the Unit as a whole with the allocated manpower and resources
Ensuring the maintaining of high standards of efficiency and security in accordance with company procedures
Assistance in the investigation of all serious crimes

Education
Matric/ Grade 12
B Degree or equivalent in Security / Surveillance Management is preferred

Experience:
Minimum 8 years relevant Surveillance experience
5 years proven Managerial experience in the Gaming environment (Smart Card/on-line)

Skills and Knowledge
Sound knowledge of Investigations and Administration
Sound knowledge and experience in Risk Management
Sound knowledge of Gaming Rules and regulations and Gaming Audits
Sound knowledge and experience of CMS
Sound knowledge and proven experience of Industrial Relations
Computer literate – Windows, Word and Excel
Good attention to detail
Excellent planning and organisational skills
Work according to strict procedures and policies
Ability to work under pressure (good stress management)
Above average level of integrity
Above average interpersonal skills
Excellent motivation skills

Key Performance Areas:
To communicate constantly with surveillance team and other departments, with regard to matters arising from the Surveillance operation, as well as monthly management and staff meetings
To communicate and liaise with the Western Cape Gambling and Racing Board and the Auditors of the Board
To plan and coordinate action to be taken in the day to day running of the Surveillance Department
To assist the General Manager with planning and development of new controls and systems within the Surveillance Operations.
Implementation of the Unit’s strategic plan and operational objectives and targets
Staff resource management to ensure sufficient and competent staff to meet operational requirements, in line with bid commitments and Employment Equity targets
Staff are developed / trained to ensure that they have sufficient knowledge and instruction to perform their duties and achieve business objectives.
Management of performance of employees within the department
Sound, accurate and systematic record keeping of all aspects of the Surveillance investigation section and functions as per Surveillance Policies and Procedures (ICS).
Audits, investigations and reporting, including the collating and communication of intelligence information with relevant stakeholders.
Budget forecasts and controls, in line with unit and Company requirements
Supplier relationship management ensuring contract deliverables
