Crucible is proposing on the CJPS
South Sudan Mission which has seconded police advisors to the UN,
Bilateral police advisors to the government and a few non law
enforcement professional positions.
Fleet Manager
Required Qualifications:
• U.S. citizenship.
• Minimum fifteen years of general vehicle maintenance experience with a
Bachelor Degree. Additional experience can substitute for a degree on a
year to year basis. Minimum of five years
experience as a Vehicle Fleet
Maintenance or Management Officer
• Minimum of ten years of supervisory experience.
• Demonstrated experience and ability to plan, organize, and direct
highly varied and complex operations related to vehicle and equipment
services and vehicle management procedures.
• Thorough knowledge of mechanical maintenance and repair methods and
practices and demonstrated ability to train others effectively.
• Ability to review specifications for new equipment acquisition.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to handle complex situations.
• Strong interpersonal skills; proven ability to work well with
others. Ability to work effectively both in a team environment and
independently to achieve the desired end state.
• Ability to exercise a high degree of professional judgment, diplomacy,
and tact at all times in order to build successful relationships with
GOSS partners, INL Juba and the international community.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.
• Proficient with basic MS Office computer programs; able to organize,
analyze, prepare, and present information to a variety of audiences.
• The officers shall be in excellent physical condition and be able to drive a standard transmission 4x4 vehicle.
Bilateral Project Manager
• U.S. citizenship.
• A total of 15 years professional work experience.
• At least four years experience in senior project management roles that
involve strategic planning, project management using critical path
methodology, resource management, quality control processes, and
budgeting.
• Demonstrated experience in managing a multi-phase, complex construction project from concept through final turnover.
• At least one year international project management experience
• Superior negotiation, interpersonal, and managerial skills including proven ability to work well with others.
• Experience in planning, strategizing, implementing, and reporting on projects.
• Proficient at basic office computer programs.
Desired Qualifications:
• Experience in corrections and/or justice projects involving infrastructure.
• Knowledge of United Nations construction and/or procurement systems.

LE Generalist
The seconded positions are for police generalists with a minimum of 10
years experience and 1 year of overseas mission work. The age cap for
UN work is 62 upon completion of mission, so if you are older than 59
1/2 this might not work for you. The other catch with UN requirements
is that no matter how many previous missions you have worked, you have
to have retired (separated employment) from LE within the last 5 years.
