Job Description

Minimal
Risk has a continuing requirement to support our client in providing
suitable candidates for ongoing expanding operations within the Oil
& Gas Sector in Kurdistan.
The Security Superintendent is
responsible for all operational security related activities in Kurdistan
and supports development of New Business, Exploration and Production
execution plans through the provision of expert advice on security
related risks and control plans. (In this context, security related
risks include any issues relating to:
people and fixed asset security and protection;
country and travel risk;
explosive remnants of war;
crisis and emergency management.
This
position will supervise the in-field security team, act as an alternate
member of the Incident Management Team (IMT) and deputise for the
Security Manager Iraq.
The role is accountable for the following:
Establishing,
documenting and maintaining operational relationships and networks to
ensure effective access to security related information, intelligence
and (if applicable) resources.
Through the assessment of external
analysis and best practice, the role uses judgement and expertise to
enable current and proposed activities.
Ensuring security threats are well understood, communicated to key stakeholders and regularly assessed.
Identifying, documenting, communicating and reviewing security risk events and controls.
Participating in all operational workshops and operational planning.
Developing,
implementing and ensuring appropriate security and journey management
controls, approved procedures, plans and inductions are in place and
regularly reviewed.
Monitoring the effectiveness of critical
controls, initiating improvement, interventions and conducting periodic
self-assessments.
Providing timely and accurate incident, critical
control verification, periodic and situational reports, briefings and
functional advice to the Security Manager Iraq.
Collecting and communicating security lessons learned from internal and external sources.
Overseeing
and/or leading investigations into breaches of security, criminal
activity or any incident impacting the security of personnel, assets
and/or operations.
Ensuring effective internal relationships are
established and maintained with a key focus on the delivery of client
objectives and work programs.
Managing key operational security related contracts and services.
Providing financial management and cost visibility of all in country operational security related activities.
Ensuring
all activities are performed in accordance with Company Policies,
Standards and Procedures whilst adhering to relevant national and
international legislation.
Qualifications
Academic / Language
Qualifications in a security and/or crisis and emergency management related discipline.
Must be fluent in written and spoken English, some verbal Arabic and Kurdish skills would be preferable.
Strong
ability to interact and communicate effectively with management,
business partners, colleagues and external stakeholders in
multi-cultural environments.
Experience
Minimum ten years
experience in a Military, Police or Security Services background with
subsequent commercial experience for a minimum of five years preferably
within the oil and gas industry.
Significant tactical and
operational experience in challenging, remote and/or non-permissive
environments preferably in the Middle East and North Africa.
Demonstrated
staff supervision (coaching and mentoring skills) with the ability and
experience to build capacity with national staff.
Competencies

Good
communication, organisational and time management skills – able to
identify and solve problems and escalate them as and when required.

Qualifications
Security / Crisis Management qualification is essential
Fluent written & spoken English
Verbal Arabic / Kurdish language skills are preferable
Minimum of 10 years military experience
Tactical & Operational experience in non-permissive environments preferably in the Middle East or North Africa
Demonstrated coaching and mentoring skills
Computer literacy (MS Office) is essential
