A position is available for a Security Manager with Mining experience based in Cullinan 30km east of Pretoria to start immediately.The successful candidate must ensure the optimum security protection measures at operational level, thus
reducing asset losses and providing assurance through the implementation of an integrated security programme.
Tasks
- Lead and advise management on the implementation of security strategies within the Operation's broader business plans at local level
- Apply security strategy to deliver business objectives aligned with business plan and client requirements
- Conduct ongoing assessment of security policies, procedures, practices and technologies to enable effective mitigation of potential losses
- Co-ordinate deployment of security systems to minimize risk and evaluate system effectiveness
- Develop an intelligence driven operation to properly align allocation of time, resources, and personnel to ensure maximum probability of success and performance excellence regarding reviews, investigations and assessments
- Engage and develop comprehensive intelligence and insights through interaction with local communities on internal and external threats to resource protection, and position the Operation to respond appropriately to those threats
- Ensure confidential processes throughout the PDSA intelligence management system
- Implement strategies, policies and procedures to protect property and assets
- Ensure adherence to Codes of Practice for Medical Fitness, Standards, Procedures and Protocols
- Ensure personal and co-workers adherence and compliance to Security and the Company’s SHE objectives
- Required to work according to the Mine’s Code of Practice, and report any observations of this not being done
- Grade 12
- Degree/National Diploma in Security Management
- PSIRA Grade A
- Five (5) years’ experience in the Security field with particular experience in leading a security function
- PC Literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Windows System
- Valid drivers’ license (EB/08)
- Sound verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills in English
- Knowledge and application of industry legislation and compliance to local regulatory bodies
- Strong leadership skills to sustain morale and successfully develop teams
- High-quality analytical skills, strategic thinking and risk management
- Thorough understanding of the mining and processing environments that enables and supports the proactive identification of vulnerabilities
- Sound understanding and skills in terms of business focused security solutions that are practical and innovative of the mining and processing environments that enables and supports the proactive identification of vulnerabilities
