- Ensures optimal utilization and functionality of all resources to prevent loss of product and misappropriation of company property
- Provides expert security escorts for direct control over extreme high risk events where remote surveillance is not possible
- Responds to CCTV and other alarms integrated with the Integrated Security Management System
- (ISMS) (i.e. access control, intrusion detection, etc.)
- Monitors designated areas for irregularities and making recommendations for follow up action to be taken to apprehend any possible perpetrators
- Applies and maintains Security control measures in accordance with policies and procedures and relative Legislation
- Performs access control related duties including but not limited to perimeter protection, physical and x-ray searches of personnel, screening of baggage and equipment, patrolling of areas, application of rules-based access management, key control, etc. enforcing compliance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) e.g. armed patrols etc.
- Controls the issuing and retrieval of cards, ensuring that all cards are accounted for, validated for the required periods, unused cards are deactivated and stored in a secure location and that lost cards are deactivated and replaced in a timely fashion
- Manages visitor/contractor access to the building in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures (SOP)
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric or a relevant tertiary qualification at NQF level 4 (National Certificate) in Security Management or recognized equivalent
- Minimum of 4 years' experience in relevant security environment or in risk management.
- PSIRA registration – Grade C
- Code EB driver's license
- Firearms competency certification as required by law for handgun, shotgun, rifle & Hand Machine Carbine
- Surveillance Skills
- Successful completion of relevant security assessments
- Successful security clearance
- Successful medical clearance
