A vacancy exists for an Assistant Security Manager within the Operations division of GES AFRICA.
Job Purpose:
The Assistant Security Manager provides support to the Project Manager with administration and logistics. This includes direct responsibility for staff administration and logistics issues.
Main Duties and responsibilities are:
To create and confirm monthly duty rosters for and to Field Rangers.
To review and verify incident reports and statements recorded on the Online Intelligence system.
To ensure that attendance register is signed by all Field Rangers on a daily basis.
To update operational firearm and ammunition control register and to ensure compliance with the Firearms Act regulations, including completion of weekly firearm inspections and regular review and verification of the Firearm Control Register.
To timeously communicate security related incidents to the Project Manager, Rangers, and the Director of Operations.
To maintain all equipment and vehicles assigned to the project according to company policies, including the administration of supporting documentation.
Responsible for administration relating to compliance with Finance, Human Resources and Operations processes and guidelines.
Respond to and manage the incident reporting and resolution processes for project related incidents when required.
Assist with the air asset deployment when required.
Minimum Qualifications:
Grade 12 certificate and a minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Security Industry.
Grade B PSIRA registered.
South African Police Services (SAPS) issued competency certificate for all unit standards based firearms.
Fire-Fighting and First-Aid certifications.
Clear criminal and credit record.
Valid driver’s license.
Computer literate with demonstrated skill in Microsoft Office suite, and other related business systems.
Personal skills and competencies
High level of attention to detail, organization and accuracy.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Proficient in English and Afrikaans.
Ability to interact successfully with employees and clients.
Ability to prioritize, multi-task and follow-through on responsibilities.
