Location : Other, West CoastOur reputable client in the security industry seeks to employ a residential guarding sop instructor (coastal)
Overall Purpose of the Job: Will be responsible to facilitate high quality training to all new and existing staff as set out in the Residential Guarding Standard Operating Procedures.
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
Grade 12 or equivalent
PSIRA Grade Instructor and SASSETA registered
Previous Experience in Operations
Previous Training experience
PSIRA registered – Grade C with Response Certification
Firearm Competency
Valid Driver’s Licence
Computer literate
Multilingual - Preferable
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
Training
Train all current and newly appointed Security Officers
Assess all trainees according to the Standards and Procedures
Carry out on-job training when not needed in the lecture room
Ensure that proper Instructional techniques are portrayed during training
Administration
All filing done according to Standard Procedure of the Quality Management System
Weekly name-list to Training Coordinator
Student manuals available for all students
Marking of examination papers
Upgrading of tests
Ensure all relevant PSIRA and identification checks are done
Check all training documents and prepare for the next course
Prepare the course file and hand over to Training Manager before the following Tuesday
Maintaining training documents and equipment as required
General
Cleanliness of classroom on a weekly basis
Classroom to be ready on a Monday for the next course
Adhere to Big Five and SOP’s on a daily basis
Motivate all students during lectures
Printing of certificates according to the relevant course completed
Strict discipline of students at all times
Personal Hygiene and General appearance of students
Ensure that Guards are familiar with the Guarding Standing Operating Procedures
Availability of training aids at all times
Ensure serviceability of training aids at all times
Updating of learning material e.g. text books, tests and practical evaluations and assessments according to prescribed policies as implemented throughout the year
Confirm with Guarding Manager regarding Trainees before hand over of trainees
To carry out site assessment and give recommendations
Check equipment on sites and give feedback to Training Manager
To enforce Training Centre rules as required
To inform Training Manager concerning training matters
Sit in on meeting with the Training Manager to discuss training matters
Carry out parade and enforce discipline as per Policy
Set an example to all new recruits
