Job Summary
The
Personal Security Detail (PSD) Team Member is responsible for the
personal protection of the Program Manager and/or the assigned
Principals under the direction of the PSD Lead Supervisor. The PSD Team
Member will follow PSD security procedures to effectively ensure mission
compliance. The PSD Team Member will assist in the development of PSD
policies, guidelines and procedures to ensure mission required
performance.
Principal Accountabilities
Performs personnel protective service detail assignments as they pertain to assigned programs.
Responsible
for safe operations of assigned PSD transportation to ensure principals
safety, to include mobile, air and static venue operations.
Utilize special weapons and tactics to ensure mission success.
Conducts protective formation positions daily.
Conducts advanced security reconnaissance of projected routes.
Conducts static security assignments when directed.
Preclude
behavior that would reflect poorly on program management, DynCorp
International, the Department of Defense, or the Government of assigned
country.
Presents a clean and professional appearance.
Other duties deemed necessary by management.
Knowledge & Skills
In-depth knowledge of Company’s PSD security policies and procedures.
Ability to conduct both static and mobile PSD and security operations.
Technical and tactical proficiency with the various small arms used in support of company operations.
Knowledge and understanding of individual and group force protection.
Ability to operate motor vehicles of various weights in a tactical manner both on and off-road.
Must demonstrate creative problem solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team equally well.
Must have an English language profile of at least 4343 (Fluent, very good, fluent, very good).
Must be eligible for SECRET Level Security DoD Clearance (previously granted and never revoked or suspended).
Experience & Education
Bachelor’s Degree desired.
Prior supervisory experience desired.
Individuals with combatant level assignments are preferred.
Minimum
of five (5) years Military or Law Enforcement experience with a
preference toward Combat Arms and SWAT. This experience may have been
gained in any of the following organizations:
Military Special Forces/Special Operations Assignments
Military Infantry / Combat Arms Service
Commercial executive protection services with military or police background
Law
Enforcement experience (Military Police/Criminal Investigations
Division; or an Emergency Services, SWAT type unit of a Law Enforcement
Agency)
U.S. Department of State Diplomatic Security Service
U.S. Secret Service
U.S. Federal Agencies, i.e., FBI (former special agents with protective security background)
Minimum of one (1) year experience in High Threat Environment is desired.
Must
have successfully completed the High Risk Motorcade Course/Protective
Security Detail (HRMC/PSD) training or be able to provide documentation
of successful completion of a similar course including standards and
curriculum for evaluation, prior to applying for the position.
Physical Requirements/Working Environment
Must
meet all physical, medical and other requirements for overseas
deployment in accordance with current Department of Defense (DoD)
regulations.
Must possess a fitness level appropriate to performing
work in a field environment and current medical and dental exam
completed within the past 12 months.
Must maintain a current US Passport.
Place
of duty and environmental conditions can be extremely austere, harsh,
and work can be performed under hostile and life-threatening conditions.
May
be required to respond to a wide variety of operational circumstances,
including extreme weather conditions and rudimentary infrastructure.
Carrying of a weapon is required.
Candidate must be able to pass both weapons qualifications and physical fitness course per assigned contract requirements.
Travel
Must be able to travel throughout Afghanistan
