The role:
Electronic access into control room (Low risk), monitoring system to reduce theft using CCTV systems. Responsible for application of CCTV and control room functions. Checking security
violations and safety issues. Monitoring, analyzing and incident conditions. Checking hotspots. They also responsible for the communication and effective guidance of protection services responses under incident and emergency conditions. Responsible to compile irregularity reports. The role reports to the Shift Protection Officer and Shift Superintendent.
Technical work responsibilities:
· Basic Knowledge of surveillance, control room and observation duties.
· Communication and emergency reporting – is the same in red Total control of Protection Services control centre and emergency reporting
· Camera patrolling techniques
· Camera handling and viewing requirements
Viewing access points via camera
· Best practice in control rooms
· Access control procedures - is the same on bullet point in red – application of access control procedures and monitoring thereof
· Evidence gathering and handling
· Alarm handling
· Telephone communications
· Radio communication skills
· Non-verbal behaviour identification
· Total control of protection Services control room centre and emergency reporting
· Application of access control procedures and the monitoring thereof
· Product movement monitoring in terms of departure and arrival times
· Report deviations to Shift Commander/Controller

Key responsibility:
· System Utilisation
· Evaluate actions and potential security breaches with reference to departmental best practice requirements and mine regulations
· Monitor movement of criminal activities within the optimal range of cameras
· Monitor adherence to procedure and standards and notify management of deviations
· Evidence gathering when an incident has occurred within the designated area of responsibility
· Gather and record evidence on incident events through the use of electronic equipment
· Monitor alarms in Low risk areas
· Reviews surveillance tapes to detect possible incidents in low risk and other areas
Required abilities:
· Grade 12
· One to two years' experience in security environment
· Understanding of CCTV surveillance or crime prevention function will be and advantageous
· Observation skills
· Basic understanding of camera technology
· Computer literate
· Knowledge of production layout, production process and work activities
· Knowledge of radio communication
· Knowledge of handling alarms and organise effective response
Physical Requirements:
· Certificate of Fitness
