Background:
New Century US is actively recruiting for a highly qualified Regional Border Security expert.
This is an open position on a new contract and involves CONUS and OCONUS travel.

Century US is a leading global provider of police and military
intelligence capacity building services. We work for the U.S. government
to train and mentor foreign security forces that are supporting U.S.
military and foreign policy objectives. These services include
development of doctrine, skills transfer (mentoring, advising,
training), institutional capacity-building, and other tailored security
solutions. New Century US focuses on building capacity on the local
national level. New Century US corporately is composed of a New Century
Consulting, Ltd, the UK parent company based in London, and New Century
US (NCC, Inc.), based in Washington DC.
Position Description:New
Century US is actively seeking a highly qualified Regional Border
Security expert to support our government customer. The SME will support
multiple multi-national border security planning conferences over a
period of six to nine months in 2015. The SME will have expertise in
border security strategic development and counter-terrorism strategies.
The SME will facilitate discussions with and between high-level foreign
government officials regarding policy, legal, management and logistical
considerations to border security cooperation. SME will co-author
whitepapers following each conference to capture significant topics and
conclusions from the conferences.
The Regional Border Security Expert
will be required to support Mission Planning when a new major
peacekeeping mission is authorized or in the event that an existing
police mandate is expanded. The expected duration of each conference is
31 days, including up to five (5) days prep, 21 days in-country, and
five (5) days travel and follow up.
Minimum Qualifications:
•
Former senior law enforcement official with extensive knowledge and
experience in border security management, counter-terrorism, and
strategic assessment/planning.
• Demonstrated experience with
engaging government agencies, including law enforcement and security
agencies, to deliver national strategy and policy related to border
policing operations to counter threats from terrorism and cross-border
organized crime syndicates.
• Demonstrated experience with integrating counter-terrorism strategy at national level.
•
Demonstrated experience in the study of terrorism. Provide information
on other U.S. and / or international agencies instructor has been
involved with in the study of terrorism.
• Extensive experience in
the training of foreign nationals and/or other training programs,
specifically in West Africa/Africa. List specific programs/courses.
• Knowledge and understanding of West African culture.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in international law
• Ability to support a flexible work schedule
• Foreign language skills may be required depending on the country context
• Familiarity with U.S. foreign policy goals and priorities relevant to Border Security
•
Demonstrated initiative, well-developed problem-solving skills,
flexibility, receptivity, and creativity in dealing with the complexity
of working on an international team
