Shift Officer: Travel Risk (2 month contract)

Job purpose
Responsible for the proactive and reactive, direct and indirect monitoring of all the company Employees and/or executives against direct and indirect threats, risk and peril
TRO to minimizes risk to both the client and the company.


Key responsibilities
* · Telephone management
* · Trauma management :(Medical Alert)
* · Kidnap & ransom
* · Security advice
* · Answers telephone in the prescribed manner
* · Notes the info received and emergency of the call
* · Formulates a plan regarding the situation
* · Gives emergency trauma support (Level one First aid and CPR)
* · Activates Emergency responds (International SOS)
* · Activates the call tree
* · Follow up and feedback on call received via call tree.
* · Monitoring of PC's
* All emails received process and distribute to relevant persons
* Constantly monitors of International SOS system regarding travellers abroad
* Constantly monitors the travel tracker
* Monitors Global incident map upcoming risks and threats
* Records of possible incidents or risks of travellers abroad via internet.
* · Receives and distributes of important info to travellers and country heads. (South Africa, Africa & Rest of the World)
* · Monitoring of TV channels
* Monitors only relevant news related sites (Sky news; BBC, CNN, Aljazeera, ETV world)
* Searches pro-actively for any emergency situations relevant to the travellers.
* · Report on any current or potential emergency to the relevant country heads (South Africa, Africa & Rest of the World) for approval.
* · Draws up reports of potential threats to the relevant appointed country heads
* · Monitoring of CCTV
* · Identifies suspicious activity or crime in and around the travel risk operation centre
* · Records kept of incidents that took place around building
* · Investigates of criminal activities around building
* · Controls Access at the front entrance of building
* · Monitors the Alarm of building
* · Reports any incident to relevant security manager.
* · Access control of Main building
* Scrutinizes of guests and staff entering and exiting the building office hours and after hours
* · Controls Access at the front entrance of building
* · Administration

* Occurrence Book - Establishes activity tracking, reports and record procedures for officers while performing their duties for future references.
* Completes all incidents reports forms
* Briefs and liaises with all parties and individuals relevant to Standing operational procedure
* Books equipment in and out (Vehicles, firearms ect.)

* · Executive Protection (Nominated Executives)

* · Monitors Guard (Contact & liaise residential guards three time a day)
* · Ensures all alarm activations and response (Activate ADT armed response & dedicated protector)
* · Ensures a 24/7 dedicated line available to executives
* · Assists with need of Executives, escalates to relevant Executive protection officers, relevant persons or Security Companies.
* · Assists the Executive protection team when needed during rest day's

* · Tactical Operations

* · Attend to all incoming alarms for SB branches
* · Communicate incoming alert info to selected audience via SMS system
* · Record info in file according to SOP
* · Report on feedback via SMS systemRecord feedback in file according to SOP

Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
Grade 12/Matric
Certifications
Grade A registration with Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA)

Licences
Valid Code 8 drivers licence
Training courses
PSIRA compulsory
FAIS compliant


Knowledge
* Knowledge and understanding of security procedures and policies
* Investigations
* Emergency procedures

Experience
* 2 Years security industry related experience. - Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) and the Safety and Security Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA)
* 1 Years Control room experience with high profile clients - Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) and the Safety and Security

Sector Education and Training Authority (SASSETA)
* · 2 Years Supervisory skills

Problem solving, planning and decision making
* Manages, prioritises and strategise of work volumes requires creative problem solving within a short framework considering the primary job function, the well being of the traveller
* Short notice for tasks requires specialize planning to accommodate requests.
* There is considerable pressure due to numerous operational decisions within a short time frame, resulting in definite stress and decision making extends often beyond normal measures
* When financial expenses are incurred, a referral up the relevant call tree is required.
* Make decisions based on limited information

Planning
* Daily reporting by country alert (medical or security), per visitor, per incident
* Daily country alert as above report becomes average weekly
* Weekly report becomes average monthly into quarterly into a yearly report
* Daily shift handing over reports
* Occurring Incident report to supervisor as and when required.
* Threat assessment report on request
* Risk assessment report on request


Working conditions
* · Shifts Work , weekends included (7 Day worker)
* · 12 Hour shifts
* · Shift change 30 minutes before shift starts
* · 4 day's on 4 days off.
* · Require own transport
* · Due to the confidentiality, sensitivity, integrity and high profile of this type of work, all CRO will undergo integrity- and polygraph testing on a continuous basis for the duration of their involvement with the Security Services. Failure of these tests will result in possible redeployment elsewhere within the Bank
