Murray & Roberts Power and Energy invite suitably qualified candidates to apply for the position of Security Manager for the Medupi Project reporting to the Snr Security Manager. The project entails
the building of 6 x 780 MW Coal Fired Super Critical Boiler for the coal fired Medupi Power Station to be erected at the Medupi Site at Lephalale, Limpopo , South Africa.
PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
Ensure the effective running of Security Operations at the Medupi Project.
Key Responsibilities The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
• Control Security operations on the Medupi site; This include but is not limited to
o establish work schedules,
o procurement for security staff
o coordinate activities of the security sub contractor
o monitor surveillance aspects
• Maintain security administration systems.
• Submit daily, monthly and quarterly security reports timeously and liaise daily with management on various operational issues
• Investigate security incidents and recommend improvements.
• Establish, maintain and manage an intelligence system.
• Establish and maintain executive protection detail.
Key Requirements Suitable candidates must have the following work experience: -
• Experience in law enforcement, military or security background is required.
• A minimum of five (5) years project based security experience in an austere environment
• Computer literacy in Microsoft Office/Word/Excel
• Close protection skills
• Investigative skills
Education Suitable candidates must possess the following minimum qualifications and skills: -
• Grade 12 certificate
• At least five (5) years’ experience in the Security Industry, and previous experience in leadership positions.
• Further qualifications in risk management is an advantage but not required.
• Firearm competency.
• PSIRA registered.
• Willing to work extended hours.
